Each content item has a lock to prevent any modification while the lock is active.
When a user edits content, it is automatically locked. This means that no one else can modify it. Saving changes after editing unlocks the content, allowing other users to edit it.
The lock is shown in purple if the content has been locked by the current user. This means that the content is locked for other users, but can still be edited by the user who has locked it. |
Unlike the Save & Close action in content editing mode, the Close without saving action does not unlock content.
An administration parameter lets you define a time after which all content is automatically unlocked.
The default value for automatic unlocking of content is two hours.
In addition to automatic content unlocking, the application also features a global content unlocking tool, available in the Home tab of the ribbon.
To open it, click on the Content Unlock button.
