Assigning rights to users therefore consists in assigning a rights profile to a user on a context.

By selecting the Profile assignment button on the Users, groups and rights tab, you access a new menu dedicated to rights assignment.

Rights contexts

In Ametys, there are several contexts for assigning rights:

  • Site content: this context allows you to apply rights to all or specific site content.
  • Synchronized content : For each synchronized content, there is a specific context that allows you to assign rights to this content. The context name is the same as the Content Synchronization definition.
  • General: these are general rights (label management, URL redirection, checking for broken links, etc.).

Access to theAmetys contribution area is subject to having at least 1 right (any right) assigned to this context.

  • Pages: this context concerns rights relating to the Site Map (add a page, delete a page, add a service, add content, etc.).
  • Resources: this context concerns rights relating to the resource explorer (create a folder, rename a folder, add a file, delete a file, etc.).
  • Reference tables: this context is used to apply rights to reference tables.
  • Content types: this context lets you apply rights to content types

The context can be selected from the left-hand column of the central interface.

When you select a context, the information displayed in the left-hand column automatically updates according to the chosen context.
