SITE application administration

Introduction

TheSITE administration area Ametys is a web interface used to perform SITE application administration tasks. In particular, this is where you can manage site users (or front-office users) and enter a few application-specific configuration parameters.

To access the SITE administration interface, enterURL in your browser's address bar:

http://{serveur-site[:port]}/_admin

This means entering the address of your back office( CMS) followed by '/_admin'.

http://monapplicationsite.com/_admin

All the information and settings in this Administrator Area relate to the SITE application. Thus, even if the functionalities are sometimes the same as those documented for the Administrator Area of the CMS application, the data manipulated here are those of the SITE application.
For example, the logs that can be exploited are those of the SITE application and have no relation to those of the CMS application.

This page details the features specific to the SITE administration interface and any differences with the general documentation (that of the CMS application).

Administration tab

For site configuration, please refer to the CMS administration documentation: Application configuration CMS.

Here is a description of the configuration parameters that differ for the SITE application:

The list of available parameters depends on the features currently deployed on your application.

In the CMScategory, specify CMS 's fullURL and IP address. You can check the connection to the server by clicking on the corresponding button.

In the Cache category,

  • Section Enable cache statisticsIf you decide to activate statistics, specify :
    • The list of HTTP server access log files (Apache HTTPD...) to be monitored. The various paths must be separated by commas. These files will be used to produce meaningful statistics on cache usage.
    • The data source to be used as a monitoring database. It will be used to store monitoring statistics for this site. This database must be shared with CMS, and its value will be automatically synchronized with that of CMS.

  • In the Directories section, specify the maximum number of characters for file names in the cache.

Don't change this value unless you're sure you understand the implications. The wrong value may prevent pages with long names from being displayed, or reduce cache performance.

For information on data source management, please refer to the CMS administration documentation: Data source management.
