Inserting video into content


plugin Embedded media offers 3 ways of inserting video into your content.

  1. Inserting a Flash animation
  2. Inserting an external YouTube video
  3. Inserting an external Dailymotion video

Inserting a Flash animation

In your edited content, position the cursor where you wish to insert the Flash animation, then in the "Edit" tab, click on the "Anination Flash" menu.

You can select the flash file of your choice:

  • from your hard disk (local Flash animation)
  • from the Resource Explorer (Shared Flash animation)

After insertion, you'll see a frame with the flash player's default dimensions, as shown below:

An alternative to the animation, as well as the layout and dimensions of the flash player, can then be modified directly in the editing ribbon by selecting the

Inserting an external YouTube video

In your edited content, position the cursor where you want the video to appear, then in the "Edit" tab, click on "External video" -> "YouTube video".

Then, in the dialog box, fill in the information:

  • theurl of the video on the YouTube platform (be sure to be on the YouTube video page)

  • Video player width (480 pixels by default)
  • Video player height (default: 385 pixels)

After insertion, you'll see a frame with the dimensions of the player, as shown below:

Inserting an external Dailymotion video

In your edited content, position the cursor where you want the video to appear, then in the "Edit" tab, click on "External video" -> "Dailymotion video".

Then, in the dialog box, fill in the information:

  • theurl of the video on the Dailymotion platform (make sure you're on the Dailymotion video page)
  • Video player width (480 pixels by default)
  • Video player height (default: 385 pixels)

After insertion, you'll see a frame with the dimensions of the player, as shown below:
