Content is a static object defined by a list of fields (filled in by contributors), which has a life cycle.

To insert content in a page zone :

  1. Select the
  2. Click on Add content
  3. Choose a content type from the list:

The new content is inserted into the zone. If the zone already contained content, it is placed last in the zone.

By default, the content is empty. To edit it, select the content (it is automatically selected after an addition) and click on the "Modify content" button in the "Content" tab.

A new tab opens to display the content currently being edited. The editing tool is easy to use and resembles familiar office tools. Read the online editor manual for more information.

Contents menu

When you open a content item in theODF interface, the banner switches to the contextual tab entitled Content.
This menu is subdivided into 4 zones:

  • Tools
  • Actions
  • Lifecycle
  • Visibility

Tools

The tools zone references a number of commonly used functions:

  • Broken links: provides solutions for managing broken links positioned in content
  • History: lists content history (workflow and versions) 

  • View comments: manage comments entered by Internet users
  • Attachments: manage content attachments

Actions

The actions zone allows you to act on the content:

  • Modify content: to edit content
  • Etiqueter: add a label to content to dynamically manage its behavior (e.g. display on home page).
  • Locked content: unlocks content if necessary (if padlock is green)

Lifecycle

The lifecycle zone is used to modify the current state of content.
It can also be used to :

  • to unpublish content that has already been validated, the content will no longer be visible on the site, and will consequently return to Draft status.
  • delete it permanently.

To be deleted, content must be orphaned, i.e. it must not be referenced by any page. Most of the time, therefore, this button is grayed out.
