  • [1ères pas] Publish your training offer from files CDM-fr

This page describes how to get started with Ametys ODF from the demo version, simply and in two steps:
- Installing and starting the demo version
- Retrieving and publishing the school's training offer from files CDM-fr

Installing the demo version and starting up for the first time

The first step is to install the demo version ofAmetys ODF , available on the download page dedicated to Ametys ODF . You need to download the file corresponding to your operating system.

Installation is performed by following the wizard. For more details on this phase, please refer to theInstallation page.

Once installation is complete, start the application by double-clicking on the shortcut created on the desktop (for Windows and Linux versions):

You should see a window that looks like this, with the Started line SelectedChannelConnector@0.0.0.0:8080 after about ten seconds:

That means you're ready! This has the effect of starting Ametys ODF , which consists of two separate applications: the management back-office for the administrator and the publishing site (also known as the front-office) for visitors.

You can access the publication site by opening your web browser and logging on to http://localhost:8080:

When you first start up, you'll see that the site is operational but empty of any training.

You need to access the management back-office application by opening your web browser and logging on to http://localhost:8080/odf with the publication login and publication password:

Import files CDM-fr and publish training offers

If you make no changes to the installation ofAmetys ODF on your hard disk, the training courses imported by this operation will be those already supplied with the demo version: these are example courses.
You can insert your own by placing your files in CDM-fr format in the webapp\cms\WEB-INF\data\odf directory of the Ametys ODF application location (the directory was chosen during the installation wizard) and restarting global synchronization.

To retrieve training courses defined in CDM-fr files, and publish them on the website, simply click on the Global Synchronization button in the Training Offer tab:

then on the Start global synchronization button :

and wait for the message indicating that synchronization is complete:

In this way, the various training courses are imported into the application, validated and published on your site, without any further handling on your part.

Just go to http://localhost:8080 to see all the imported training courses:

Please note that the graphic charter used here is that of the demo version, but it can be customized. See the Graphic integration page for more information on customizing renderings.

Functions available on the site for visitors

All these functions are available to visitors to http://localhost:8080, once the import has been completed.

Search engines and access to training courses

Ametys ODF natively provides several modes of access to the training catalog and to your training units.

These access modes complement each other to deliver the best possible user experience.

Access by fold-out tree is also very useful in terms of referencing, since search engines can access the entire catalog at once.

On the site, you can access the training courses in different ways:

From the advanced search engine

From the tree of training courses by field

From the training tree by training type

From EU search

Based on the training diagram

Displaying a training course

A training course is presented under different tabs, as follows:

The summary and information on the right are always displayed, no matter which tab is open. The program features Teaching Units that can be clicked on to display more information.

A course is generally organized into years, then semesters, then lists of Teaching Units, as shown in the example above.

You can then click on an EU to see the following display:

Note that you can quickly see in which degrees the EU is offered.

Display and search engine settings

The displays and search engines described above can be modified directly from the management Back-Office, without any special development (for example, to restrict the training tree to a particular component). For a detailed description of how to set these parameters, please refer to the page " Setting up training displays and search engines".
